We Act - Women's employability and empowerment through sport activities
βΆSummary
Sportβs values in relation to social inclusion, and in particular the role of sport in promoting and achieving the integration of marginalized groups, including labour integration, are broadly recognized. Participation in sport can contribute to improving the well-being of women (migrants, refugees, unemployed, from rural areas, victims of violence, etc.), as well as their physical and mental health, while increasing personal mobility and autonomy, and promoting social inclusion and employability. We Act gathers a mix of sport organisations to join efforts in transnational cooperation to face local/regional challenges of women integration, applying education through sport methodology. The project will respond to the 2021-2024 Sport Work Plan key topics and the Callβs priorities, setting up as objectives the capacity-building of organisations to work transnationally, bringing the EU dimension to local level; the development of social integration model for inclusion and diversity of women with fewer opportunities; the knowledge-building, increase of work quality and transfer of best practices among sport and non-sport organisations; the awareness raising and increase of participation in sport of vulnerable women. The 4 partners, supported by associated entities will implement transnational and national activities which will benefit 20 coaches/trainers, 80 marginalised women and 200 stakeholders from BG, ES, FR and NL. Around 3200 indirect beneficiaries will be reached through the planned dissemination channels and follow-up. We Act is structured in 3 work packages, delivering 13 outputs (reports, management plans, data sets, toolbox, website, social media, promotional material), 3 transnational meetings, 1 joint staff training and 4 multiplier events. The project will raise awareness of European stakeholders on the important contribution that sport can make to answer the needs of women integration, while countering for gender equality and social cohesion at EU level.
