β–ΆSummary

The e-MARC project is a small-scale transnational partnership aiming to digitally empower coaches from different sports, competitive levels, and sexes to promote inclusion and diversity across contexts. This project will enable sport coaches to choose and apply the most appropriate technological monitoring and assessment resources in sports, thus promoting the quality of coaching and staff. Such improvement aims to increase the chances of making a difference in the sports market and improve the opportunities for employability and competitiveness. OBJECTIVES: This project has the following main objectives: (i) to increase coaches’ levels of digital competence and empower them to use digital resources for collecting, registering, storing, and managing sports performance data; (ii) to combine cutting-edge theory with best-practice coaching experiences, thereby enabling coaches to convert data into the information that helps them regulate and adjust the training process daily; and (iii) to provide sport coaches with an online network resource to store and manage private data and share experiences with other sport coaches. IMPLEMENTATION: Four working packages (WPs) will be scheduled and implemented: WP1 – Project Management; WP2 – Development; WP3 – Implementation; and WP4 – Dissemination. RESULTS: We expect to educate, and certify at least 300 sport coaches across the involved countries. We expect to show these sport coaches how to optimize time while using digital skills that will help to individualise the training process and improve the coaching experience. Another beneficial outcome from this project will be the availability of the e-MARC platform for storing and treating data about sports performance. IMPACT: As a short term-effect, it is expected to improve the knowledge of sport coaches about the use of monitoring, assessment, and digital resources in sports practice, while daily use the e-MARC platform for storing and managing sports performance data.
