LETS - FeEL The wind to fill the Sails

The project FeeL thE wind To fill the Sails - LETS addresses social inclusion, equal opportunities and diversity with the transfer of good practice of sailing courses for blind or visually impaired from Italy to Slovenia in order to widen the access of this sport regionally and outside the common practice. Social inclusion of blind and visually impaired people through sailing will be carried out in the region of the North Adriatic, while sailing as a sport acts as an agent for social inclusion in this unique and innovative approach, that has been lead by ASD FairPlay in the last 10 years in gulf of Trieste. Five partners from Slovenia and Italy are joining forces to start a new network of cooperation between the sailing community and the professional organizations of visually impaired persons. The objectives of LETS are the implementation of training of at least 15 new sailing trainers in Slovenia and Italy, execute a sailing course for at least 10 blind or visually impaired persons from Slovenia, produce 1 educational guidelines for sailing instructors of the blind or visually impaired persons, start a network of cooperation between sailing community and the professional organizations of visually impaired persons with an Italian-Slovenian cooperation, promote sailing for all with the good practice of sailing with blind or visually impaired persons, who will collaborate as a crew in the biggest sailing competition in the world – Barcolana in Trieste in October 2022. LETS will promote and achieve personal development and learning within the target groups (visually impaired persons in the North Adriatic region, grassroot and national organizations in the field in the region, sailors and sailing community in North Adriatic, sailors and sailing community in the Mediteranian and largely internationally). LETS will be carried out in a bilingual mode (Slovenian and Italian) and will promote multilingualism, all materials will be also accessible in English.
