โ–ถSummary

"Green Footprint Lightening on sports Activities, Management, and Events" (Green FLAME) is an Erasmus+ project under the coordination of the Spanish Olympic Committee. Green FLAME aims to promote a more sustainable sports environment in general, and promoting neutral sports events by encouraging not only sport managers but also fans. This goal will be achieved thanks to the experience and leadership of the Spanish Olympic Committee in the field of sports sustainability, but especially by the transnational cooperation of the consortium, that includes Olympic committees, research, and innovation institution, a sports association, and one SME specialised on the development of gamified apps. Technology will be a core tool for promoting sustainability in sport. The project aims to develop an app, Green FLAME, that will help managers and policymakers to evaluate sustainability indicators on their activities and events, calculate the carbon footprint that they are producing, and receiving evidence-based strategies to reduce it towards a more sustainable activity. Fans will take advantage of the app, raising awareness on how they can contribute towards more sustainable behaviour as sports followers and citizens. In order to increase the project's impact, Green FLAME will also develop an Online Educational programme and a MOOC, targeting sport managers and policy-makers, in which key sustainability strategies will be taught by experts in the field, the Green FLAME app use will be promoted, and the participants will receive a completion certification by the project partners. Thanks to Green FLAME, managers and policymakers from international and national federations, associations, and clubs will have access to the necessary knowledge and a tailor-made technology that will help them make their activities more sustainable, and fans for all kind of sports will receive the necessary knowledge to contribute, towards a more sustainable and active planet.
