โ–ถSummary

Hiking is an outdoor activity, especially practiced by amateurs of all ages. It has multiple benefits for the body and mind. From improving the blood pressure and blood sugar levels to provide restorative and stress-relieving powers of being outside in nature. The great advantage of hiking is constituted by its accessibility, which can vary from a gentle walk on a flat wooded path to mountain climbing. Almost everyone, regardless of age or athletic skills, can find a hike that offers the right level of personal challenge. Project partners identified the common stringent need to educate young hikers regarding how to pack properly their backpacks for an enjoyable and safe hiking experience. Objectives to be achieved by the end of the project O1. Develop a mobile application to provide a checklist with the equipment needed to pack for different types of hikes in swamps, flatlands, hills, and mountain areas; O2. Promote an active lifestyle through hiking by raising awareness among young people across the four countries taking part in the project about a mobile application that assists them in packing their hiking backpacks. The objectives will be reached through a series of steps and activities: 1. Will develop a mobile application that will provide a checklist with the equipment needed to pack for different types of hikes in swamps, flatlands, hills, and mountain areas; 2. Will create visibility materials (photo, video) to promote the mobile application to young people and to anyone interested in this sport activity; 3. Will organise dissemination events in school in order to promote the mobile application and invite young people to engage in hiking activities; 4. Final event will be a conference held in Romania to disseminate the project results to relevant stakeholders (youth workers, organisations, sport clubs, volunteers).
