β–ΆSummary

For many people, stress is a perennial issue in the truest sense of the word: According to YouGov survey in DACH region from spring 2021, almost 90 percent of the approximately 3,000 respondents were stressed in the preceding months. β€œWomen tend to be more depressed and anxious when faced with stress, while men tend to be angry and energetic rather than sad and desperate.” Consortium members with experiential learning and non-formal educational background have joined forces to tackle above worrying situation by an empowerment project using yoga, AcroYoga and tai chi as a tool. For many people, Yoga and Tai Chi are not simply a form of physical exercise or activities that gets checked off the list solely for the purpose of sweating. For a true practitioner, they are offering a space one seeks refuge, the space they come to get quiet, be still and connect with a greater purpose. For many women, it’s also the place where they feel most empowered. On the other hand AcroYoga is a truly participatory sport with lots of connection, trust, fun and support where community development and inclusion is at it’s best. Our target group is young woman and mothers (21 years+) with fewer opportunities such as broken families, economic, social or cultural diversities such as immigrant or migrant background. They have been identified as they are role figures of the micro-communities, crucial supportive part of an active, healthy and loving society. We want to contribute to bring solutions for these ladies through a.) Yoga and Tai Chi: - to have chance to learn to focus on themselves, their stillness, balance and peace of mind by self-awareness, self-care. b) AcroYoga: - to develop connection, trust, support and have fun together while building an empowering community.
