SPERO - SPort communities’ dEvelopment thROugh developing a volunteers’ program
▶Summary
SPERO project has as a main goal to create conditions for increasing skills of volunteers, coaches, managers and staff of sport organizations and supporting their mobility by elaborating a sustainable transnational state-of-the-art volunteer training and recruitment (SPERO) program and validating it. It includes trainings at national level and validation of lessons learned, as well as partnering options with sport stakeholders through efforts of 3 experienced sport organizations from 2 EU member states and one candidate country. Main challenge in the amateur sport is the low public funding. To mitigate the negative effect of insufficient financing, volunteers are needed. The elaborated volunteers’ training and recruitment program will be supported by the elaboration of a simple and user-friendly mobile application. Project main target group consists of volunteers such as sport professionals, sport administrators and coaches/trainers from the clubs in the partner countries, mini football associations and federations practitioners; fans - people from different social, intellectual and professional status who are passionate about sports and mini football. At least 60 volunteers from 3 countries will directly benefit from SPERO training. After training of the volunteers, the program will be validated through their participation in the implementation of 2 sport events in 2 partnering countries, so other members of the organizations in the hosting communities will benefit as well. SPERO envisages organizing sport events and awareness raising campaigns about mini football thus ultimately contributing to raising awareness of the positive role of sport to volunteering activities. The project will sustain in time thanks to the creation of a Network of volunteers at international level.
