Summary

Dis+Abled GAMES idea is to go beyond the current scheme in the field of social inclusion of people with disabilities to sport and perhaps initiate a new trend in sport. General objective is to use unique and innovative combination of sports for social inclusion and integration of people with physical and visual disabilities (PwD) with able-bodied people (AbP). Project objectives are fully consistent with Horizontal Policy priority: “Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport” and Specific priority: “Combating violence and tackling racism, discrimination and intolerance in sport.” Project is designed in eco-friendly way with green practices (a pro-ecological approach to sport and everyday life). The specific objectives and activities : - to organise in Poland 7- days long, innovative “Dis+Abled European Summer Games” in selected summer sports jointly practiced by PwD and AbP athletes from at least 10 European countries - to let them take part in 10 sports – indoor and outdoor (Boccia, Sitting Volleyball, Goalball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Bowling, Handcycling, Archery, Dragon boats, Sailing) - to engage around 500 people in total ( Key staff, athletes, athletes’ partners and assists, team officials - coaches, technical service, chiefs of disciplines, referees and volunteers) - to transfer knowledge through side activities - educational workshops: “Fair play in sport”; “Green Practices” in sport and everyday life”; “Water activities 4 all - H2O + Adrenaline”; “Paracanoeing as an integrative tool” - to attract many spectators (target value: at least 2000 beneficiaries) - to attract attention of media by dissemination activities. Project expects the following results (outputs): - organization of innovative sport event – competition in selected summer sports jointly practiced by PwD and AbP, - educational programme (side activities), - dissemination and sustainability actions for the biggest impact possible.
