The aim of the FOLKDANCES project is to promote physical activity, especially traditional sports, among children and minimize sedentary lifestyle by introducing children to traditional dances. Specific objectives - to create safe space for children and youngsters to share, learn and practice traditional dances - to foster the intercultural dialogue through traditional dances - to establish a sustainable transnational network to promote traditional sports, aiming to exchange good practices and experiences - to promote the conservation of cultural heritage of EU countries Beneficiaries of International week of traditional dances: 60 participants - members of folklore ensembles, folk song and dance ensembles and young people with fewer opportunities, such as young people from regions with economic and social obstacles, young people with a low level of education coming from underdeveloped areas where traditional dances are easy to practice almost anywhere. 12 accompanists - Sport experts, Trainers from folklore ensembles, folk song and folk dances ensembles, Youth workers and Social workers Beneficiaries of 1 day international training: 100 participants - members of folklore ensembles, folk song and dance ensembles and young people with fewer opportunities, such as young people from regions with economic and social obstacles, young people with a low level of education coming from underdeveloped areas where traditional dances are easy to play and can be practiced almost anywhere. Beneficiaries of 6 awareness raising campaigns in schools youth and leisure centers: 120 kids and youngsters from schools youth and leisure centers Results: Promote promote European traditional games by creating safe space for children and youth to share, learn and play together. Outputs: International week of traditional dances, international training, 6 awareness raising campaigns
