Summary

The WALRUS project is aimed at 100 children / 8-12 years /, who will undergo a free course for basic training in basic skills in water polo (32 trainings in each partner country), combined with a lecture course on healthy lifestyle. In addition, 9 trainers and 15 volunteers will be trained through a specially designed manual, which will be freely distributed /online / to interested parties. Methodical online meetings will be organized with the participants in the project for exchange of experience and establishment of working contacts in the future. The inclusion of lecture material in the training course on the basics of proper nutrition, recovery and protection from the dangers of the use of prohibited substances / doping / will contribute to the proper inclusion of young people in future sports activities. In addition, it will be the basis for attracting new members of the club and expanding the base of sports in a healthy way in the future. This project will put into practice the idea of social inclusion by teaching students in a difficult sport, combining elements of information in a healthy lifestyle. A new approach will be applied to work with coaches and volunteers with emphasis on the priorities of the EC and as well as by involving parents in this process. At the beginning, at the end of the training, the participants will be invited to monitor their progress (100 + 100 questionnaires). The partners Levski-Sport for all (Bulgaria), Lazio Nuoto (Italy) and Sporting Clobe de Portugal, will meet 2 times face to face at the beggining and at the end of the project (Kick-off - Sofia and final meeting- Lisbon).
