Paragliding as a sport or recreational physical activity has numerous benefits for body and mind. Yet, it is practiced by relatively small number of people and the numbers are decreasing every year: Hungarian Flying Association (HFFA HU) had 1151 licensed paragliding pilots in the year 2019 whereas only 1120 in the year 2020; accordingly Slovak Flying Association (LAA SK) 992 licensed paragliding pilots in the year 2019, 956 in the year 2020; Romanian Flying Association (AZLR RO) had 803 licensed paragliding pilots in the year 2019, 747 in the year 2020. From all Flying Associations only Czech Republic (LAA CZ) had a slight increase in certified paragliding pilots. Goal: To increase the participation in paragliding sport by raising awareness of approx.1000 people in 4 countries about paragliding and its benefits by providing them with opportunity to learn paragliding basics and try flying. Objectives: O1. Increase awareness, understanding, interest and participation in paragliding in 4 countries by organizing 8 Open Paragliding Weeks and involving approx. 1000 people who have never tried paragliding before. O2. Share best practices and experience within partnership about teaching and promoting paragliding which will materialize in complete guide how to organize and implement open paragliding week. Tangible results: -1 complete guide how to organize paragliding open week -8 open paragliding weeks -approx. 1000 people tried paragliding -approx. 1000 people increase their participation in sport and physical activity -8 promotional videos and photos of paragliding Intangible results: -Increased awareness about paragliding, more people practicing it – contribution to increased physical activity and health on long run. -Increased capacity of partners to promote paragliding, stronger and broader network for future collaborations.
