CRR - Clean Run Race
▶Summary
The Clean Run Race is a project born out of the collaboration between Consell Esportiu Sabadell and Sabadell Hiking Union (Uni Excursionista Sabadell), a local club specialized in hiking activities, with SportMalta and The Vikings Sailing Club (an entity and a club that specializes in marine sports in Malta’s coasts) with the main goal of realizing the first edition of a project that aims to expand to various entities and countries of different characteristics around the EU. The main objective of Clean Run Race is to raise awareness among children aged between 8 and 16 and their respective families about our planet’s sustainability and life forms, using physical activity as the main tool and conductor for the organizing entities of Sabadell and Malta. In order to reach this goal, the project is divided into two main activities. Firstly, the organization of a family event in Sabadell’s forests and Malta’s beaches in which trash is picked up from the environment and recycled, and awareness-raising activities are conducted. Secondly, the design of a didactic unit centered around physical activity for their implementation in schools and clubs, as well as raising awareness about the conservation of the environment. Through these two main activities, Clean Run Race pretends to contribute to the fight against climate change by changing habits and lifestyles in younger generations and their respective families. At the same time, it aims to contribute to the new initiative “The New European Bauhaus” in terms of sustainability, aesthetics and inclusion. In this first edition of the Clean Run Race, it is expected to impact more than 6,000 people through the different activities and to establish the foundation for the expansion of the project at both national and international levels, taking advantage of its adaptability to areas with different layouts and characteristics.
