S.I.M.S. - Sport Inclusion Media Seal
▶Summary
The SIMS project – Sport Inclusion Media Seal - will mainly focus on the promotion by dissemination/communication, of social inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities through sport and will therefore be basically connecting to the general priority of the Erasmus+ Programme “Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport” . The origin of this project comes from a finished Erasmus+ project "Europe is Moving: Sport inclusion through medias" (EiM 1.0), which goal was to take a snapshot about the level of Media involvement in the field of social inclusion and equal opportunities through sport and physical activity. The research done confirmed that Media involvement is, in general, almost inexistent. So SISMS aims to respond to those detected needs by bringing two main targets together: on the one hand, the Media and, on the other hand, the organisations that promote and develop inclusive sport activities and events (inclusive sport organisations). A seal will be created to recognise those Media entities that promote social inclusion and equal opportunities through sport. The seal/certification will work as a tool to be used to increase their commitment and by providing training to get more knowledge, skills/techniques and values. This way they will increase the coverage of the actions implemented by inclusive sport entities and will become promoters of social inclusion and equal opportunities through sport. SIMS counts with the best possible entities: they come from different fields (press, sport for all, inclusion and education/training/certification, they represent the collective that SIMS aims and they have outstanding networks that will ensure a huge impact at European (and even worldwide) level. The work plan (30months) is divided into 5 WP: • WP1 – Management. • WP2 - Certification and Training. • WP3 - Experimentation and pilot test. • WP4 Quality and inclusive approach. • WP5 - Impact and dissemination.
