Bask@School - Using basketball as a team sport to introduce healthy habits in schools as an extracurricular activity
โถSummary
Schools are one of the most important settings for the promotion of physical activity because they are where young people spend most of their day. The role of schools in promoting physical activity and sport in their own space, outside the formal curriculum, is recognized in different EU sport policies[1] and also by the World Health Organization. The relationship between the education system and the sport system is not always linear. However, many local clubs develop their own activities in school spaces with local students outside their formal education schedules. Based on 4 different countries experiences ( Spain, Greece, Portugal, Croatia) a tool will be designed to identify the strengths and threats of the analyzed reality. In this sense, the purpose of the project is, taking basketball as a reference, to identify the different forms of relationship between sports clubs and schools and thus establish a guide with basic principles to develop policies for clubs and school to promote together their own projects where to increase the participation of all children and young people in sport.
