GSA - Get Senior Active
▶Summary
The Get Senior Active project (GSA) stems from the predecessor Activa't (2018), a program promoted by the Baix Camp Sports Council. It is a non-profit, private entity with its own legal entity in Catalonia that is going to lead this new project. The previous program had the objective of promoting an active life in a simple way that could be carried out in everyday contexts for all audiences during the pandemic. However, it is gradually returning to the new normality and we detect that there is a sector of the population that continues to be the most affected in many ways: the elderly. That is why GSA was born with the main objective of recovering physical activity to improve the health and social relationships of older people through a program of routines and training. It aims to be a program that promotes the inclusion of the sector of the population most affected by the pandemic and that meets relevant objectives for this call and at a European level. In this project there will be 3 more partners: Unione Italiana Sport Per tutti (Italy) Asociaţia Judeţeană Sportul pentru Toţi (Romania) and Club Reus (Spain) who will convert GSA in an international program. The key actions of this project go through 3 strategic axes: GSA entities: With the aim of creating a training program with its respective help guide and tools so that through local entities the desired target can be reached. GSA TV: With the aim of creating and disseminating part of the content in an audiovisual form. GSA activities: To complete the project by creating complementary activities where different entities interact and share special moments through physical activity. It is a project with a vision of long-term expansion at a European level. It is intended to retain more than 200 people and more than 10 different entities in the first 2 years and impact more than 500, increasing all participation indicators by 50% in a future 4 years, even increasing the number of partners and countries of origin.
