PROtect Integrity Online project focuses on promoting integrity and values in sport, particularly combating match fixing and corruption in sport. It will do so by researching, developing, creating, implementing and evaluating most effective ways to deliver integrity education to professional and elite level athletes, particularly focusing on online tools and methods. During the two-year project, the match fixing education will be delivered by player associations to at least 5,800 athletes in Europe, through the blended face-to-face/online approach. The project will also focus on digital transformation, both when it comes to the extensive use of online materials and platforms to educate athletes and to disseminate the projects, as well as the innovative approaches to project and partnership coordination. The project consortium is composed of 10 partners from 6 EU Member States, including EU Athletes as the coordinator, IRIS as the research institution and 8 player associations 5 different countries (Denmark, France, Italy, Ireland, Spain) and 5 major team sports (basketball, futsal, handball, rugby, volleyball). The project has 4 main phases: 1) Research concluded with the Report on mapping and recommendations for education 2) Creation of online education materials, according to the recommendations and partnersยด input 3) Implementation of the education via team visits, supported by online materials and social media 4) Evaluation of the education and collection of good practices into Best practice booklet The project will ensure exchanges and coordination with past and ongoing Erasmus+ projects related to match fixing and the key public and private stakeholders at the national and European level. Important dissemination activities planned will ensure the impact and broad reach of the project and its results. PROtect Integrity Online is a continuation and development of earlier successful match fixing projects coordinated by EU Athletes over the last decade.
