I.M.Health - Innovative methods for preserving and enhancing health in the 21st century

The I.M.Health project focuses on how people’s need for physical activities have changed and evolved due to the changes in lifestyle in the XXI. century, and on developing innovative methods that address these changing needs. The objectives of the project are the followings: 1.To raise awareness on the effects sports and exercise have on our health 2.To expand the knowledge of sports and health professionals by gathering and analyzing fitness assessment methods that are being used today 3.To develop and apply a new fitness assessment method that is specialized for the XXI. century sedentary lifestyle 4.To share knowledge about innovative training methods suitable for the changing needs of the XXI. century 5.To organize comprehensive training programs in the partner countries in order to verify the effects of the innovative training methods The objectives of the project will be achieved by the below listed Intellectual Outputs and comprehensive training programs organized in the participating countries. The IOs: a) A study on the extent of the effect sports and exercise have on our health (‘Health study’) b) 3 informative and educational videos about the results of the ‘Health study’ c) A collection of fitness assessment methods used today by sport and health professionals d) A new fitness assessment method developed for the needs of the XXI. century e) Introductory studies and videos about 2 innovative training methods developed for the XXI. century needs, Water Skyball and Balance² training methods f) A study about the research results of the comprehensive training programs implemented during the project The target groups of the project are: a)People between the ages of 18-60 who suffer from the musculoskeletal and/or health related consequences of the sedentary lifestyles of our century b)Sport and health professionals (coaches, trainers, fitness instructors, PE teachers, sport managers, musculoskeletal specialists and therapists) c)Staff members of the part
