ISSCCEE - Inclusive and Safe Sport Camps in CEE
โถSummary
The project Inclusive and Safe Sport Camps in CEE (ISSCCEE) is designed to tackle diversity and inclusion in sport and to combat various forms of intolerance and discrimination in sport. The main goal of the project is to plan, organize and implement inclusive and safe sports camp for LGBTIQ+ communities. The camp will have various sports events accompanied by peer to peer workshops that will enable us to grow political agency and participation in our sports groups. Creating and implementing sports camp in such a way will enable us to attract and accommodate LGBTIQ+ individuals who do not participate in LGBTIQ+ sports activities. Project partners designed the workflow of the project around issues specific to our local contexts (Slovenia, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Romania) which will enable us to work collaboratively to achieve following objectives: Exchange of experience of organizing sports activities for LGBTIQ+ people in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) through peer to peer experience exchange and collaborative learning; Gaining new knowledge and skills and creating guidelines on how to organize inclusive sport events; Getting more visibility and positive presentation of the whole LGBTIQ+ community; Maintaining and promotion of healthy lifestyle and empowering more LGBTIQ+ people to join sport events; Creation of safe sports spaces for all, with emphasis on transgender and intersex people; Creating a new kind of inclusive, non-competitive and safe sports camp. The project includes transnational meetings organized around topics relevant for capacity building and gradually leading throughout the course of the project to organizing first of its kind inclusive sports camp in the Central and Eastern European region. The project will create a research to get a meaningful feedback about specific needs of our communities and create more inclusive environment for LGBTIQ+ individuals to participate in sports.
