▶Summary
The objectives of the project are based on a sound needs analysis in line with the specific objectives of the call because the project addresses common needs of participating countries in the field of handball sport. Also, project will help to build capacity of participating organisations to work transnationally and the developed innovative training programme will open up future cooperation opportunities with other European countries and organisations. An innovative training program, developed video analysis platform will increase the quality of work and practices of the organisations involved. Specific objectives of the project: 1) To introduce and motivate young people to test themselves in the role of a handball referee and to raise the qualification of a young referees by giving them enough personal attention, providing theoretical and practical knowledge. Indicator: we expect to prepare 20-25 young qualified handball referees in Lithuania and 20-25 in Latvia. 2) To develop the qualities of a young person, such as responsibility, honesty, equality, and this project will contribute by attracting both male and female. Women’s handball is popular enough, so that women as judges have a lot of prospects and equal opportunities to become qualified referees. 3) To develop an innovative training programme to support dual careers to facilitate an optimal combination of high-quality training and transition of young handball players to the labor market becoming young qualified referees. The project benefits outside: to show a good example how to attract a) financial support to this kind of projects from EU b) to show to other sport organizations in LAT and LTU this can be one of options how to involve youngsters in additional activities c) to encourage Our partner federations in region (EST, maybe FIN) to take part in projects in the future. The result can be achieved, if the interest shown by young people gives reasonable hope for theoutcome of the project and motivation to work in this direction. At the moment we are already working with new talents and due to a limited budget, it’s not possible to take care of all activities. In Latvia at the moment, there are 20 active referees on different levels and different age category. In Lithuania 30 active referees on different levels and different age category. For the future we need 100 total referees who are well trained, educated and the main goal is after project is to have 50 new well-prepared handball referees.
