Building European Safe Sport Together is a project that aims to deliver the foundation for a harassment and abuse free European Sport. With strong partners delivering the academic support, continent wide network of organizations for dissemination, legal, project management, events delivery and sports organizations, the project has a full circle range of professionals with four key deliveries that will effectively raise the maturity of the European sport on its safeguarding readiness: 1. Development of a singular definition of harassment and abuse, unifying the speech and discussions on the subject within Europe, taking into account the documents available today and the last academic researches on the topic; 2. Development of a turn-key solution safe sport legal framework for European Sports Organizations, taking into consideration National Olympic Committees, National Federations and Clubs; 3. Building of a toolkit for awareness and education on sports safeguarding, based on digital means (with emphasis on social media, which is accessible to all), to be able to be used by all European sports organizations of different levels and resources; 4. Creation of a safeguarding legal framework and policies and procedures for European sports events organizers. The two year project, with a very consistent dissemination process will be able to provide effective change in terms of safeguarding for the continent, based on the horizontal value of digitalization, but also inclusion, with the dissemination across a wide range of European countries with different languages, cultures, economic performance and sporting realities.
