EuMamaNet - European MAMANET FESTIVAL 2023: an EU-wide not-for-profit event to promote gender equality in sport
▶Summary
The European MamaNet Festival 2023 is a not-for-profit EU-wide sport event, taking place in Cervia (Italy), aimed at promoting gender equality in sport, by an innovative model to challenge the existing status of women in the field of sport. AICS is the organiser, involving 14 Eu associated partners, members of the International CSIT and expecting 4.000 participants at the event. Since MamaNet is a team-sport discipline providing special requirements to promote the comeback or the first access of women over 30 years old or mums to the sport practice, the project has the objective to enlarge a grassroots sport community of women. Those are engaged to experience sport practice as athletes and sport positions as coaches and managers in sport organisations, with the involvement of families and community. The project is carried out in cooperation with partner from Israel (Hapoel), supporting MamaNet Movement since 2005. Before the stage of the sport event the project provides a wide set of preparatory activities (MamaNet Networking Toolkit, MamaNet Web Support Platform and Trainings), aimed at enabling all the involved Eu partners to enlarge the sport movement of women. During the MamaNet Festival the activities address different target groups: - MamaNet TRAINING COURSE for athletes practicing MamaNet for the first time - AROUND THE GLOBE TOURNAMENT of MamaNet, involving sportswomen (athletes, coaches, referees and sports leaders) - A SET OF SIDE-EVENTS encouraging social inclusion and equal opportunities in the field of sport for public audience (families, stakeholders, policymakers). The Dissemination starts with the preparatory activities, ending with the final conference, through a set of educational tools, campaigns and media promoted at Eu, National and international level to launch the project and to disseminate its output, for an overall Social media reach of 1 million and 50.000 visits to the MamaNet Web Community.
