HEPA Basket4all - HEPA Basketball Challenges
▶Summary
The main objective of this project is to promote the participation in sport and physical activity, by organising a 18-month-long gender and disability-friendly basketball-tournament itinerary, complemented with parallel informative and awareness-raising actions, distributed by 4 member states, and supported by relevant municipalities, schools, national sports federations and grassroots’ sport organizations. The basketball-tournament itinerary is structured around 3x3 tournaments, which will take place in emblematic outdoor courts of the host cities and mix more than 84 amateur athletes - of which 20 are wheelchair basketball practitioners (5 per country) -, 20 coaches and teachers (5 per country), and 8 representatives of Basketball Federations (2 per country), from distinct nationalities, genders and physical capabilities. Each tournament includes one conference in a blended format (online streaming via the event’s website to increase its outreach), whose invitees and venue will be chosen by the host country, upon a pre-selected range of topics, that range from “nutrition” and “mental health” to “sports as a vehicle for societal change”.
