EG 2023 - Volunteers - European Games 2023 - a model to enhance sport volunteering in Europe
▶Summary
The European Games 2023 - a platform to enhance sport volunteering in Europe project aim to take advantage of the major sport event, namely European Games 2023 to boost volunteering in sports and its role in European societies by empowering volunteers through participation, ad-hoc training and side events. The project outline will consist of preparations for the recruitment and training of the volunteers, implementation of activities before, during and after the event accompanied by ad-hoc promotional campaigns, as well as the creation of materials and documents that will support the legacy of the project by providing future organisers of sports events with valuable resources and volunteers/participants with enhanced knowledge and lasting social/professional skills and network. Overall, the project is going to reach out to 6.500 volunteers whilst 30.000 people are expected to attend the side events and 13 deliverables are foreseen to be produced within the project’s lifetime. Hence, the project is foreseen to have a meaningful impact on the participants, volunteers, host cities, civil society and the European community as a whole.
