FTSU - Friendship Through Sport Unlimited
▶Summary
The main aim of the project is to build the capacity of the participating organisations to work transnationally in the field of sport, while promoting EU values through sport and other related sectors such as education and protection of the environment. The specific objective is to introduce a sustainable model for transnational collaboration that promotes sport as a tool for health and a way to take responsibility for the environment. The main activities include: - sports activity for all - athletes, grassroots (children aged 6-12) and disadvantaged groups - educational workshops promoting healthy life through sports; - physical activity alongside green initiatives that encourage the eco-friendly behaviour and attitudes. The newly created Balkan Sports Development Association is partnering with the North Macedonian athletics club ZAKCS (Zdruzenie Atletski Klub Centar Skopjie ) and the Serbian athletics club Atletski Klub “Balkan” in order to: - develop, pilot, evaluate and promote through a dissemination plan a model that combines a project-specific sports event (running competition) with educational workshops and green initiatives. Sustainable results: - creating a model for transnational cooperation and exchange of innovative practices, bringing the European dimension to the local level; - developing the capacities of partner organisations to work transnationally in the sports domain and across other sectors; - promoting common EU values, especially the inclusion of disadvantaged and the “green” aspects.
