Summary

Building on the successful MOVE Erasmus+ Sport project, dedicated to sport and physical activities for patients and vulnerable people undergoing hospital surgery, physical rehabilitation or psychological treatment, MOVE ON aims at identifying and disclosing at European level innovative programs to motivate regular physical activity in ordinary life after the conclusion of health care and other therapy cycles, for both physical and mental well-being. It is indeed of paramount importance that former hospital patients and people, who underwent physical activity rehabilitation programmes, continue regularly and continuatively sport practice and physical activity also in ordinary life, especially outdoor and with other people. Concretely connected with the EU “HealthyLifeStyle4All” initiative and opening up to a wider range of beneficiaries, MOVE ON will design and implement an innovative “sport and health trail” to increase the motivations for regular sport practice and physical exercise (jogging, nordic walking, water sports, fitness) for former patients and vulnerable groups, combining them with healthy habits (nutritional quality of food, tobacco-free environments, supporting early detection and climate change). Special attention will be also given to mental health patients and Ukrainian refugees supported with psychological care to overcome the war and migration traumas. MOVE ON partners will analyse and promote the most effective integration sport methods to include and support Ukrainian citizens together with local residents. A cycle of 3 transnational workshops will involve trainers, sports staff, health and care professionals from the MOVE ON consortium. The main project outputs are an informative sport guide for former patients and Ukrainian refugees and a Protocol for trainers with innovative transnational strategies to promote regular physical activity. MOVE ON project will also impact the European stakeholders sport community and political institutions.
