UP - UNDER PRESSURE
โถSummary
According to data from the 2022 Eurobarometer, 54% of young people practice at least one sport with some regularity, but the closer one gets to the age of majority, during one of the most delicate development phases of adolescence, half of them give up or continue without no enthusiasm or expectations. This phenomenon is called Youth Sports Dropout. The question we asked ourselves is simple: why do these phenomena occur? The answer we have given ourselves is based on a concept applied by many insiders in the sports sector, that of "result at all costs". This pressure, both within the sporting world and from the external environment, deprives teenagers of fun and motivation. Our project intends to show the connection between the tremendous pressure exerted by the coaches and the family towards the younger athletes, identifying the incorrect behaviours and which attitudes can be implemented to promote healthy and constant sporting growth in boys. MAIN OBJECTIVE: Provide tools for sports coaches and parents of young athletes to help build healthy, respectful and inclusive environments that ensure young people can play sports without pressure. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: 1) Contrast the concept of "perfectionism" in sports. 2) Promote virtuous training styles. 3) Educate on the "successful parenting" concept in youth sports.
