Health Station: a revolutionary concept for accessible physical activities outdoor
โถSummary
SUMMARY Public parks and local places in people's neighborhoods are crucial for fostering a sense of community and social belonging. These spaces belong to everyone, regardless of age, gender or income so it is easily accessible to everyone. However today, the way parks and local places are designed doesn't reflect their unique potential to attract non-sporting local individuals or other residents to be active outside. As communities living nearby grow and change, it is important to adapt these public spaces to meet the community's needs and encourage outdoor physical activity because it benefits their mind, health, and physical form. During the project, will be implemented the 'Health Station' idea, which consists of establishing an innovative outdoor sports club (mobile building) in a park or residential area with a high concentration of middle-class residents. The main goal of this 'Health Station' is to provide free and accessible physical activity for local residents, encourage them to do sports and, together with the help of a coach, regardless of the weather conditions. Will be demonstrated that public spaces can be excellent venues for physical activities, catering to people of all ages, from 8-year-olds to 80-year-olds (the expected result at least 540 residents of the local district in the activities). We strongly believe in benefits of this pilot project for local residents, we believe that idea can be applied and adapted in all cities and European countries. Therefore, together with a partner will be developed a comprehensive model (a step-by-step guide) of policies, programs, and initiatives aimed at promoting physical activity outdoors in parks and local places in people's neighborhoods based on 'Health Station' idea. A step-by-step guide will provide explanations for sports organizations, city municipalities, and public authorities on how to promote and integrate innovative programs that make physical activity safe and attractive for residents.
