Summary

Stemming from the strong belief that sport is a framework for personal, social and learning skills and promoting tolerance, solidarity, inclusiveness as well as other sport values and EU values, the EU SportIncludes project intends to elaborate and pilot a new transnational sport program addressed specifically to a very vulnerable target group: kids and teens with autism, with a focus on Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The project will also develop an innovative transnational methodology and approach to develop specific skills for trainers dealing with this sensitive target group. The key actions will be design, tailored and implemented around kids and teens, who are hard to reach, in the fields of and sports, given to their “uncommunicable disease condition”. In doing so, the project will aim to transnational approaches – mixing education through sport activities with transnational and national character although with a European dimension – to share the different practices under the same innovative methodology for knowledge sharing. The general objective of the EU SportIncludes project is to enable transformational change (at individual, organisational or sectoral level) in practising indoor and outdoor sports: the goal is to transform sports as a trigger for mental and physical well-being for kids and teens suffering from autism, ADHD and OCD diseases leading the way for finding concrete, supporting solutions improving the life of kids, teens but ultimately families, friends and the local communities they live in.
