Summary

General objective of TAEKWON-DO FOR THE RIGHTS is to encourage young people aged 12-17 years actively practicing taekwon-do to increase civic engagement in their communities through establishing local bonds with low enforcement authorities (LEA) and thus enhance social inclusion. Among specific objectives - increasing knowledge and awareness regarding tolerance, self-discipline, trust, integrity, social cohesion, non-discrimination that TAEKWON-DO cultivates, in the light of the European elections 2024. Core innovation - connecting the Community Operating Police (COP) concept with TAEKWON-DO AND YOUTH and its further exploring. We will promote the concept of COP-SPORT collaboration which contributes to increasing civic participation in young age through implementing a new type of event and setting a new type of intergenerational volunteers’ interaction for it. We will use a genuine concept of ours – the Character Card Bonus System and enlarge its impact on children and adolescents for increasing understanding of civic participation and democratic values through sport. Activities will encompass a sport event and various side activities – RIGHTS roundtable, visits and demonstrations of LEA sport activities and participation in YOUNG FRIENDS OF POLICE competitions, intercultural activities. Results: 350+ participants and 1500+ visitors to the RIGHTS sport event, Increased awareness as regards the role of LEA in promoting health enhancing physical activity, in preserving democracy values; Increased participation in sport and voluntary activity and motivation to interact with other community members; increased sense of belonging to the local community, upgraded e-platform ready to be used in 10 countries and wide communication campaign promoting the support of Erasmus+ program. Outputs: digital tools for promoting social inclusion and civic engagements through sport - inspiring stories, famous athletes' profiles, cases about engaged civically female athletes, etc.
