The partner consortium of the SMART START for DC project consists of 6 key partners from 6 countries (Croatia, Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Turkey and Malta) motivated with the idea of contributing to the sports sector and promoting dual careers, therefore the project aims - encouraging the dual career of young athletes of high school age (from 14 to 19 years old). This will be achieved by timely preparation for the labor market, and in order to respond to recognized problems and meet needs in the medium and long term, the specific goals of the project are: - promoting cooperation and enabling organizational changes aimed at the common needs of young athletes at the level of 6 partner organizations by developing 20 new MOOC educational contents, 2 research and 10 gamification tools and 1 digital web platform as a networking site; - strengthening the dual career of a minimum of 180 young athletes through a psychological assessment of tendencies and preferences for the labor market and job recommendations, as well as the acquisition of transversal skills that will ensure an increase in their employability after the end of their sports career, - supporting quality education at the international level, but also more broadly, on transferable skills for the labor market adapted to young athletes through new OER educational content. This will be ensured through 3 main results of the project: 1. Developed educational resources for the acquisition of transversal skills of young athletes, 2. Developed innovative web platform, MOOC education and other tools, 3. Pilot activities and activities of creating a virtual environment for the personal development of young athletes. The project contributes directly to the sectoral priority in sport of the Erasmus+ programme, Encouraging dual careers of athletes and to the key sectoral document in the field of sport: The EU Work Plan in the field of sport (2021-2024), thematic area: dual careers of athletes.
