A.C.R.E. - Applying Aikido as a Conflict Resolution Method in Youth Education

The aim of the project is to promote social inclusion among children and young adults through the development of fundamental life skills, such as problem solving, decision making, creativity, critical thinking and personal and social responsibility. These values are also the key values of Aikido. Children and young adults will learn or strengthen their life skills through the practice of Aikido. Aikido teachers and trainers will be trained to recognize life skills inside the practice of Aikido and to support children to develop them. The project wants to build a solid net among the three partners involved and put in place the best Aikido practice with the specific focus on life skills. One of the results of the project will be the first handbook of Aikidoโ best practices, which will be disseminated to the other Aikido Dojos in Europe and it will be open to everyone interested in Aikido. The project will involve three Aikido Schools around Europe and it consists of three summer camps, one for Aikido trainers and teachers, and two for children and young adults, and they will be organised in the three countries' partners.
