feSPORT - Festival européen du sport
▶Summary
The European Festival of Sport (feSPORT) seizes the opportunity to use the energy and popularity of the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024 in order to promote to a large audience the European Union’s culture, values and benefits through sport. The great visibility of this high-performance sport competition will allow feSPORT to achieve its goals: developing grassroots’ sport especially among people away from practice and sensitizing them to sport as a vector of health and equality, making known sports within European Union’s members and building a bridge between different cultures by sharing knowledge and values. During the day, through open access, the Festival located in the “Olympic Fan Zone” near the Club France in La Villette Park in Paris, will present an open-air museum, sport activities, workshops and talks on topics related to sport (disabilities, health, nutrition…) and Europe. Partnerships with activity centres, associations and junior and high schools will allow young people to take part to the activities and to discover new sports practised in the European Union. In the evening, each European partner will organize an event in its own Club bringing together sport stakeholders. By addressing as much a large public as a more expert one, the Festival also wishes to spread and develop in a large scale (young, adults, sport executives, trainers, scientists and high-level athletes from all over Europe) the notion of European identity through sport.
