EPCS-TE - European Partnership for Clean Sport in Tertiary Education
โถSummary
In 2016, the Monitoring Group of the Anti-Doping Convention of the Council of Europe, adopted the Anti-Doping Education Guidelines in Tertiary Education Institutions, including universities and other post-secondary educational institutions. These Guidelines are based on the idea that actively involving tertiary education institutions in anti-doping education, will have a major impact on promoting clean sport behaviour and values, and influence the attitudes, behaviour, and careers of young talents, elite athletes, and other people regularly involved in sport activities. Accordingly, the main purpose of the Anti-Doping Education Guidelines is to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of anti-doping education in tertiary education institutions. Given this context, the rationale of project โEuropean Partnership for Clean Sport in Tertiary Education/EPCS-TEโ is to promote the successful delivery and evaluation of anti-doping education in tertiary education, and also actively engage tertiary education institutions in widely promoting anti-doping education and values throughout their activities, such as embedding anti-doping education in the curriculum, supporting anti-doping education professional qualifications (e.g., continuous professional development seminars on anti-doping education targeting diverse professional groups across different disciplines). The key contention of project EPCS-TE is that tertiary education institutions can serve as anti-doping beacons, promoting anti-doping values, attitudes, norms, and behaviours to the future generations of (sport and non-sport) professionals, parents, and active citizens. The overall aim of project EPCS-TE is to develop a European partnership, between National Anti-Doping Organisations and tertiary education institutions, for developing, implementing, and evaluating anti-doping education programmes and initiatives in tertiary education.
