Safe GRASSroots Sport: building capacity for grassroots
โถSummary
Safe GRASSroots Sport: Building capacity for grassroots sport organizations project is designed to, through a bottom up and holistic approach, enhance positive impact in terms of raising awareness and provide practical tools to assist grassroots sport organisations in addressing their responsibility and duty of care to ensure safe sport for children and young people, fostering structural and cultural changes, and strengthen good governance in the field of safeguarding. Coordinated by the NOC of Portugal, the project brings together seven organisations, including three European NOCs, a national Sport Governamental organization (two of these organizations involved in Child Safeguarding in Sport joint project from EU/COE) and three expert organizations in the field of safeguarding in sport, as well as the European Olympic Committees (EOC EU Office) and the Council of Europe (EPAS) as associated partners. The scope of the project is to build capacity in the field of safeguarding in partner NOCsโ/country and, in each, a selection of grassroots sport organizations, through providing tools and expertise so that they can lead the process of implementing policies and measures in their respective organisations. The expected outputs of the project are to produce: a mapping of best practices and stakeholders (including potential pilot grassroots sport clubs) regarding safeguarding children and young people; an Online Self-Assessment Tool on safeguarding; and a Digital toolkit for a safer sport. This tools will be developed tailored to the needs of grassroots sport organisations, and piloted in a selection of grassroots sport organizations in each partner NOCsโ/country. The tools will be later made available in an online form to the wider sport movement. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
