Summary

The German Frisbeesport Federation (DFV), together with the Finnish Disc Golf Federation (SFL), the Latvian Disc Sport Federation (LDSS), the learning institute blinc e.G, the German sports club Pfeffersport and the Finnish disc golf club Jyväskylän Liitokiekkoilijat (JyLi), are applying for a cooperation partnership on the topic of increasing participation of kids aged 6-12 in the sport of disc golf. The project addresses the sport-specific priority of “Encouraging healthy lifestyles for all: Easier access to sport, physical activity and healthy diets” and the horizontal priority of Inclusion and Diversity. The project’s main objective is to improve the capacity of local, grassroots disc golf clubs to offer high-quality kids’ disc golf activities, especially in terms of inclusiveness and health enhancing physical activity (HEPA). The project addresses the needs of local clubs by providing them with free access to high quality online tools for kids’ coaches, networking and counselling opportunities and promotional materials. Hundreds of current and prospective disc golf coaches in the project countries and all over Europe will benefit from this support, leading to a significant rise in the number and quality of disc golf activities available to kids. The main outputs of the project are a freely accessible, online kids’ disc golf coach training programme adapted from a Finnish programme, an online collection of 20 games and dozens of active exercises for kids’ disc golf practices, two promotional videos for disc golf aimed at kids and families and new networks for knowledge-sharing and mutual support among local clubs. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
