DEC 2024 - DREAM EURO CUP 2024

DEC 2024 is acronym of DREAM EURO CUP 2024, a Not-for-profit sport event of the first edition of the amateur European futsal championship for people with mental health problems. The project includes a one-week of futsal tournament and a series of awareness raising seminars addressed to increase the knowledge around mental health and to the importance of sport and physical activity as a psychiatric rehabilitation tool. In fact, the project is targeted to people with diagnosed mental health disorder - such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia - that are normally exposed to irregular and sedentary lifestyles, united and/or due to antipsychotic drugs, as well as being victims of stigmatization and social discrimination in all aspect of their life, often losing their rights and dignity. The project stems from the commitment in numerous projects put in place by the large experience of the Applicant and participants organizations, in the promotion of sport as a rehabilitation tool in psychiatry and as a key element in the fight against the stigma of mental illness. The event will be held in Rome, with a 7-day duration, in September 2024, during the European Week of Sport. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
