Summary

The project “PLANET BALL: Football as a tool for environmental education” will focus on the development of tools for grassroots clubs and local sports actors in eco-responsible behaviours in their sports to develop environmental awareness from an early age through sport. It is built around three main objectives: - To take stock of responsible good practices implemented in order to identify what is missing and what could be improved to build up a strong and comprehensive training programme. - To implement theoretical and practical awareness-raining training using a “train the trainers” approach with the idea that trainees will become ambassadors of good practice both in their clubs and in their communities. - To support youth armed with their knowledge in the wide dissemination of the content and results of what they learnt and worked on in the aim to crate a community of good practice. Training will be the core of the PLANET BALL project, and the activities will ensure a smooth implementation of the project activities in the four implementing partners. The training activities will consist of integrating pedagogical methodology developed about raising awareness of football youth environmental issues and to equip them to be true ambassadors of good practice in their community. More than only delivering training, the trained Youth will be invited to be direct ambassadors of good practice by disseminating what they have learned to a wider audience during the organisation of a "Green Football Festival" in each pilot country. Throughout the project, one the main objective will be to better understand the target audience, their knowledge and the social impact of our field activities, in order to showcase the benefits and importance of educating the youth to environmental issues with concreate, measurable and identifiable results. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
