BtP - Beyond the Pitch: Sports-based inclusion
โถSummary

Meanwhile amongst stakeholders there is a woeful lack of awareness on best practice when working with displaced communities, and therefore we have identified a Europe-wide need for capacity building amongst grassroots NGOs and sports clubs on working with people seeking refuge. This need has been present for several years, but was thrown into sharper relief since the outbreak of war in Ukraine. In response Lighthouse Relief, alongside partners Oltalom and Sport for All Suceava, will be developing a gamebook that allows sports coaches and NGOโs to build their capacity when including marginalised youth, where we will pool best-practice, example exercises and other useful tools that will transform the way that displaced children and youth are integrated through sports. Secondly we will design an accessible training module for coaches that will identify inclusive and trauma-informed approaches to include displaced children. We will carry out participatory programming, piloting both projects and designing them to have regular feedback sessions and input from displaced communities and sports coaches; making it a ready-to-use methodology that's impact will span far beyond the end of the project. All the programming will be inclusive, with training on including girls and young women, who are particularly vulnerable to marginalisation, and games specifically designed to boost gender equality and girls confidence. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
