MAGICS4ALL – Medieval Activities Grow Inclusive
▶Summary
MAGICS4ALL is born as a follow-up of an established partnership for the promotion of traditional sports and games and their role in the local communities. This project rises from the conclusion drafted by the MAGICS project, which led to wide recognition of the role of traditional sports as a means not only of a physical activity practice, but most of all as a way to keep the cohesion of local communities and foster intergenerational exchange and good governance in small sports clubs and, as it wants to contribute into the sustainability of the impacts and the widening of the sectors tackled under the light of traditional sports. The new floor of intervention of the MAGICS4ALL will be the one of promotion of equity and European values through sports and to develop of healthy lifestyles for all. MAGICS4ALL then responds to the sector-specific priority: “Encouraging healthy lifestyles for all. F) promotion of traditional sports and games”, as it aims to: -share best practices and methods for the promotion of physical activities in informal settings, outside mainstream sports, and in a non-competitive environment; -highlight the transnational nature of traditional sports clubs and the mobility opportunities they create for the citizens to meet other European countries -promote the participation of traditional sports clubs in community education and transgenerational transmission of know-how and competencies; -promote volunteerism in sport, the spirit of democratic and civic engagement, fostering European values and respect for diversity; -promote “sports for all” and participation in unconventional sports activities to enhance health and promote the European policies in the field of sport, the implementation of the three pillars of the HealthyLifestyle4All initiative. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
