meNtal - Sports towards me(N)tal health
▶Summary
The aim of ACROSS project is to promote sports as a means of intergenerational dialogue and foster intergenerational understanding and lifelong learning through sports, by reaching 3 specific objectives: SO1-to map the capacities of YOs/sports clubs in involving the elderly in the training programs of children/youth academies, as well as the challenges/barriers in active participation in sports from the perspective of the elderly; SO2-to develop evidence based methodologies for intergenerational training programs in YOs/sports clubs; SO3-to advocate for the importance of intergenerational dialogue through sports. Each activity targets one SO: T1-Project Management–facilitation and support for smooth implementation; T2-Kick off transnational meeting for self-evaluation of partners(SO1); T3-Research on the current situation of intergenerational sports (SO1); T4-Transnational meeting to develop a draft methodology (SO2); T5-Curriculum development (SO2); T6-Piloting activities(SO2); T7-Transnational meeting for finalization of methodology (SO2); T8-Website development(SO2); T9- Advocacy campaign (SO3); T10-Online promotion (SO3). These activities will result in raising awareness on intergenerational sport, developing a step-by-step methodology for practical application that will be freely offered online to the broad audience and engaging stakeholders to support this process. During the project there will be several outputs produced: a research report with all the evidence collected and analyzed, a curriculum that will include a defined methodology, a webpage to host the curriculum and the piloting activities testimonies, a promotional and an advocacy campaign and the project management report. Through our promotional campaign we expect to reach 120.000 people and an additional 292 through the other activities – not counting the partners and their representatives (100 research respondents+36 interviewed+66 participants in piloting+90 YOs/sports clubs via direct mailing. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
