RUNNING TOGETHER - Running Together: Promoting
โถSummary
The "Running Together" project, in collaboration with partners from Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Cyprus, represents a bold initiative aimed at fostering peace and understanding in the Eastern Mediterranean region. By strategically selecting cities like Alexandroupolis, Edirne, and Khaskovo as host venues, the project creates a dynamic platform for cross-border engagement, transcending geopolitical boundaries and fostering dialogue among communities historically divided by conflict. These cities, situated at the intersection of diverse cultures and traditions, serve as symbolic landmarks of unity and reconciliation, embodying the project's core values of inclusivity and cooperation. Central to the project are the international running events, meticulously planned to promote participation from diverse communities across Greece, Turkey, and Bulgaria. These events offer more than just a platform for athletic competition; they provide a space for cultural exchange, mutual respect, and solidarity. Participants, regardless of nationality or background, come together to celebrate the universal values of sport, forming bonds that transcend linguistic, cultural, and political differences. Through the shared experience of running, individuals discover common ground, forging connections that lay the foundation for lasting peace and understanding. Complementing the running events, workshops cover conflict resolution, intercultural communication, and teamwork. Led by experts, they foster dialogue and practical strategies. Integrating sport, they instil camaraderie and a commitment to peace. Spanning partner countries, the project addresses shared challenges. Through innovation, it aims to make a tangible difference in conflict-affected communities. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
