Summary

The annual small-scale “The legacy of Paris 2024” is a partnership of a sports club from Greece (Youthorama) and a newcomer association in E+ Sport from Paris France (PUC Paris Université Club). In 2024, two major sports events will be hosted in Europe, for a first time after 2012: Paris 2024 Olympic Games and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Thousands of people are preparing events that will host this summer millions of people and billions of people will watch them. We expect innovative sports practices to be implemented and will change the evolution of sports for the next years. The aim of this partnership is to measure the inclusion “temperature” of the sports events for the people with disabilities; to follow on the spot and digitally, the two major events, to make unified sports interventions in the fan zones and publish the Good Practices report in 11 identified areas. This is the reason we chose the specific consortium: the applicant’s campaign “A ball for all” has been selected by several football stakeholders to deliver experiential events while the legal representative is the Technical Delegate of the Paralympic Football Paris 2024 Paralympic Games; the French co-beneficiary is based in Paris and recruits hundreds of volunteers for their sports events. It will be the first time that the specific consortium will apply; their last year application was approved but PUC didn’t meet the deadline to be validated. This year, we secured the validation of PUC and we readjust the approved application. Personal development, inclusion and empathy, are the three main needs of the target groups that will be addressed by the project. Personal development for people with visual impairment: The harsh reality for people with visual impairment is that are excluded in major sports events due to limited accessibility. Inclusion for people with visual impairment and the sighted ones. The program will help all people to enjoy the fundamental human right to play together. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
