โ–ถSummary

The Connect project fundamentally is about reducing the environmental impacts of outdoor sports through supporting the building of connections between Outdoor Sports and Protected areas in Europe. The project brings together key strategic partners in Europe from the sport and environment sectors and aims to build capacity and knowledge among partners but also the wider outdoor sports and protected area communities and managers. Sports activities in nature bring great benefits to the participants and can also bring benefits to the natural area, but only if they are practiced with responsibility and sensitivity. Co-creation, co-production and genuine engagement is essential in the management of protected areas in relation to the outdoor sports that take place there. This project will bring these two sectors together and provide guidance tools and support to empower the sectors to stronger and effective collaboration. Ultimately this project contributes to long term sustainable sport practices and the protection and conservation of our valuable natural and protected areas in Europe. It also ensures that outdoor sports do not get banned or deregulated from areas through increased awareness and understanding. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
