MoveGame - The Move Game
▶Summary
It is life-size game where players move along the board as giant pawns. The goal: promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle in a fun and active way. Players will just need to scan a QR code with their smartphones to choose between the “active education” or the “active game” mode. Before choosing between the two game modes, they will also need to select the level of difficulty (the recommended difficulty level will be suggested according to their age and their physical activity level). The game has already been tested in France using a plastic sheet with very positive feedbacks. The main goal of this project is to use codesigned approach and placemaking tools to propose this solution in sustainable way in all the partner countries, especially in prority neighborhoods. The game offers options for all categories of the population, but attracts mostly families, children, and young adults. These target groups are amongst the highest priorities when it comes to physical activity promotion as for example and according to a report by the World Health Organization (WHO), only 23% of boys and 20% of girls aged 11-15 in the European Region meet the WHO's recommended guidelines of at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day.Overall, these statistics suggest that there is a significant need for improved physical activity promotion among European children and youth. Combining codesign approach, placemaking and digital solution could be a very efficient way to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyle among various target groups, especially the youth. The Move Game project has a very high potential to become a sustainable solution as it will stay in the public space and will be available to all the people having a smartphone with an internet connection. More players will be able to play with one phone, so even those who do not own a phone could participate with their parents, friends, teachers, etc. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
