Summary

The project pursues the objective of gender equality in sport through: 1 Organisation of a women's school cup of grassroots football in two categories with teams from Dublin, Istanbul and Madrid. In each city there will be a local tournament over several weeks, with 4 groups of 4 teams, with home and away matches, and knockout stages from the round of 16 to the final. The winner of each city and category will play a triangular tournament in Madrid. 2 Training of 20 grassroots coaches of women's football from Ireland, Turkey and Spain by the coaches of the Atlético de Madrid (ATM) academy. It will consist of an initial online training, a face-to-face training in each country, and a final training in Madrid, through the integration of the selected coaches in the ATM women's teams, who will attend all the matches of the Madcup tournament played by each ATM women's team. Main activities: WP1 Management and coordination of the project, WP2 Development of contents and materials, WP3 Implementation of the Coaches Training, WP4 Organisation of the Copa Colegial and WP5 Dissemination and impact evaluation. The project aims to involve between 550 and 600 girls and adolescents from each country, i.e. a total of 1650 to 1800 players, and to achieve the training of 60 coaches (20 per country). The consortium is composed of recognised entities in the world of football: Madcup S.L. (Spain), Turkish Football Federation (Turkey) and FC Eagles CLG (Ireland). All of them have sufficient experience, preparation, knowledge and skills to carry out the proposed project successfully. In addition, it has other collaborators of recognised prestige in the field of football, such as the Atlético de Madrid Academy. Expected outcomes: raise awareness of the importance of gender equality and inclusion in sport, support the development and growth of women's football and contribute to the creation of an inclusive, equitable and high quality sporting environment benefiting the sport as a whole that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
