Summary

The project, called Orienteering4U aims to create a possibility to invite various groups of people to engage in a beneficial sport which can be suitable for everyone: including people with disabilities, children, seniors, people of any gender, fitness and experience. It seeks positive social impact, is free of charge, provides training for volunteers/judges. A vast and multicultural project’s team will allow this project to exchange experiences, analyse them and find the best practices which will be both used during the organization of the event and passed to other people who will be reached by the project’s results. The project will also produce sustainable (digital) deliverables that will make sure that this project is long-lasting: 1) an orienteering beginners guide in 10 EU languages; 2) a methodology which will help other organizations to organize similar events. Moreover, experience sharing seminars will be held. Lastly, the idea is to follow this project’s concept and experience and make such an event annual – by suggesting International Orienteering Federation to hold it in a different country each year. Thus, it is expected that with Orienteering4U, a long-lasting impact will be done on general public (they will be encouraged to take on sports), partner organizations (they will learn a lot during organization of such an event, acquire new contacts) and other organizations (who will be reached by the methodology and individuals (who will be reached by the beginners guide). that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
