DSStreet - Day of Sport in the Street
▶Summary
The European percentage of citizens doing actively sport is 44% of the European population. This percentage is lower in women, old people and immigrants with still a challenge to improve in the region. For this reason, DSStreet aims to prepare a series of 4 sport day events in the streets of Zaragoza(Spain), Pau(France) , Rhodes (Greece) and Reykjavik (Iceland) with the objective of promoting sport, physical activities and healthy lifestyle in all the society regardless of their age, capacities or gender. For this reason, an event will be developed in each country in which over 40 different modalities of sports, including adapted to disabled people sports and inclusive sports, will take place in the streets of each of the cities, open for everyone’s participation. Workshops and conferences regarding sports, healthy lifestyles and inclusiveness will take place on these events and will be open for everyone with interest in these topics. Moreover, manuals of best practices and guidelines of lessons learned with the events will be prepared by the consortium and published open for everyone, to enhance replication of the event and to include more European cities in further editions. The different dissemination and communication activities, including a final event at the end of the project, will help the consortium disseminate this practices through city networks and townhalls in order to involve more public bodies in the promotion of sport and inclusiveness in their cities. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
