Vision The projectโs vision is to create accessible and inclusive climbing programs for children with special needs so that they can develop physical, social, and emotional skills essential for a fulfilling and active life. This vision extends to empowering coaches, families, and the wider community to foster a truly inclusive sports landscape for all. Target Groups - Primary: Children with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). - Secondary: Climbing coaches, parents and caregivers, educators, special education professionals, healthcare providers. Goals - Develop evidence-based guidelines for coaches on inclusive climbing programs. - Create tailored climbing programs catering to specific special needs groups. - Design and deliver specialized training to empower coaches with the skills required for inclusive programming. - Raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding inclusive sports participation. Objectives - Conduct a thorough needs assessment to guide the development of guidelines, programs, and trainer resources. - Produce high-quality, accessible training materials drawing on expertise from sports and special education. - Establish a user-friendly online platform to host training resources.
