โ–ถSummary

The "Wheelchair Basketball Players as Future Basketball Managers" project is a groundbreaking initiative that aims to empower wheelchair basketball players by providing them with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities necessary to transition into successful basketball management careers. Recognizing the untapped potential of wheelchair athletes as valuable contributors to the sport's management, the project seeks to promote inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunities within the basketball community. To achieve these objectives, the project is structured into four interconnected Work Packages (WPs), each focusing on a specific aspect of the project. WP1 is dedicated to project management and coordination, ensuring efficient execution and clear communication among stakeholders. WP2 involves the creation of a comprehensive guidebook for identifying, selecting, and motivating wheelchair basketball players as future basketball managers, providing a valuable resource for both athletes and organizations. WP3 focuses on the development, testing, and implementation of a four-stage educational program tailored to the unique needs of wheelchair basketball players, offering practical training in event management, referee and secretary courses, and statistical analysis. Finally, WP4 aims to raise awareness and disseminate the project's outcomes and successes to a wide audience through various channels, such as conferences, workshops, and social media. By providing wheelchair basketball players with the tools and support necessary to excel in management roles, the project aims to create lasting positive change in the basketball community. The desired impact includes increased integration of wheelchair athletes into management positions, greater diversity and inclusivity within basketball organizations, and a more robust and sustainable support system for athletes pursuing dual careers in sport and management. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
