G.A.M.E. - Gain Abilities through Mental Exercise

The project, "Gain Abilities through Mental Exercise" (GAME), aims to develop soft skills in youngsters aged 11-19 through mental sports like chess, go, and draughts. It focuses on promoting social inclusion, encouraging sports participation, and fostering community events for skill development. The project involves research, training for educators, and organizing local and online events to enhance mental sports' visibility and accessibility, aiming for long-term sustainability through partnerships with educational institutions. Mental sports, such as chess, go, and draughts, play a crucial role in cognitive development and mental agility. They enhance critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and strategic planning. Engaging in mental sports can also improve memory, concentration, and the ability to foresee and evaluate future scenarios. Additionally, these activities foster patience, discipline, and resilience in the face of challenges. Beyond individual benefits, mental sports encourage social interaction and cultural exchange, contributing to community building and inclusivity. Main objectives of the project: O1: Instruct 5 PE teachers/coaches in each of the partners’ countries’ in small and semi urban communities, 20 in total, to include the mind sports chess, go, draughts, in their activity, having 5 designated classes per school year. O2: Raising awareness amongst youngsters on the positive effects of using the mind sports chess, go, draughts as a tool for soft skills development in the small and semi urban communities of the partners, through the local physical events and European mental sports online tournaments. O3: Develop the soft skills of 100 young people from each community, aged 11-19 (gymnasium + highschool), 400 in total, through 5 mental sports workshops, both tangible, intangible skills. that is published through this page expresses the views of the project beneficiaries only and it does not represent the views of the European Union or the European Commission.
